July 2026 Employee of the Month: Siggy Torfason

This July we are celebrating the incredible work from Siggy Torfason (she/her), our Member Support Coordinator with our Neighborhood Programs at Maybelle Center!

Siggy consistently demonstrates exceptional compassion, persistence, and dedication. She embodies the relational support that’s typical of Maybelle Center: walking alongside our Members as a partner through tricky, tiresome, or tedious resource navigation.

Siggy works tirelessly to ensure that our Members receive the support and resources they need. She coordinates with providers and advocates through complex systems with patience, empathy, and determination. Her advocacy has resulted in dozens of people avoiding eviction, accessing meal services, obtaining necessary medical care, and finally receiving long-overdue Supplemental Security Income payments.

Siggy recently walked a Member through the loss of a beloved dog by coordinating resources, accompanying the Member to the euthanasia appointment, providing emotional support, and arranging a meaningful keepsake. Whether supporting a Member through profound grief, helping someone access essential services, or advocating through challenging systems, Siggy ensures people feel seen, supported, and valued.

We are so grateful to have her unwavering care, dedication, and commitment supporting our Members. Thank you, Siggy!
