Meet Rebecca

Rebecca describes Maybelle Center like you might describe a great date: “Outgoing, fun, adventurous. I like the people.”

Rebecca started visits with Maybelle Center back in the early 2000s, something that’s been a core service since our inception.

When she’s not working a double shift, Rebecca’s also an active member of our Community Room and visits with students weekly.

“Visiting with people is probably the best thing ever. We have cool conversations. I tell them everything about my day, what I do, and what goes on. Sometimes we talk about my cat, Bunny – she’s pretty cool and laid back.

“I do miss in-person visits. Talking on the phone just isn’t the same. I’m also looking forward to getting back into the Community Room and having puzzle time after COVID. Me and Royce do puzzles together – I love doing puzzles. And coffee. Oh, my God, I love coffee.”

Hidden in Plain Sight

Maybelle Center’s work can sometimes be hidden in plain sight. That is, until you start looking for it…
