Most afternoons Sassan sits quietly along the perimeter of our Community Room, his hands wrapped around a steaming cup of coffee…
And yet, invisible to the rest of us, Sassan lives with a constant stream of voices brought on by schizophrenia.
“It’s tiresome,” utters Sassan. “When the voices are loud, I don’t have enough energy to communicate or be with people.”

Sassan, what’s it like to be part of the community at Maybelle Center?
