Robert was one of the first members I met. We visited with a volunteer who was even more straight forward and down to earth than I am. Robert loved that about her. When I asked him what makes for a good visit he said, something about not being sure besides being able to settle down and listen. He knew it can take a minute to warm up to the real topic at hand. Food--Robert would talk with me about food. Ask me what I was cooking for dinner and would I be putting some spice into it. He would often tell me he missed cooking foods that he loved. I've never met Robert's son but boy do I know Robert was proud of him, loved him, and felt loved by him. He would tell me that most times we'd visit.
